This shot from Foreign Correspondent always amazed me. I could never figure out how it was done. In an interview Hitchcock stated that he first had a stunt plane with a camera attached to it dive towards the ocean and then pull up at the last minute. He created the cockpit set, and rear projected the shot of that plane on rice paper in front of the set. Right before the plane pulls up, Hitchcock pushed a button and released two large tanks of water that broke through the rice paper into the set.
Fuck Yeah Hitchcock!
